Siegelman Aid to Cooperate With Feds

By SuppressedNews

Posted on: May 7, 2005

Once an aide to former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman, Lanny Young has cut a new deal with the U.S. Justice Department in which he promises cooperation with a federal grand jury. The grand jury in Montgomery reportedly is examining alleged wrongdoing of the Siegelman administration.

Earlier, Young had withdrawn his agreement to cooperate with the grand jury until this new deal was reached under which the government will drop some charges against him if Young testifies.

Young has already pled guilty to numerous charges, including a bribe of more than $100,000 to Siegelman cabinet member Nick Bailey in exchange for assistance for some of Young's clients.
