Multiculturalism: Disarming America and the West

Given there are strong religious and spiritual aspects to the Islamic conflict with both Israel and the West, it is amazing to me how little our own politicians, especially President Bush, take this into account. In his fifth anniversary 911 speech on Monday, he repeated the same error he has made since 911 by stating that Islam is a noble religion hijacked by totalitarian terrorists.
Islam is not a religion of peace and tolerance. The Koran, the teachings of Muhammad, and history indicate otherwise. Islam is a false religion filled with exhortations to bloodshed and vengeance, particularly toward Jews and Christians. It is an imperialistic ideology that advocates violent spiritual and political tyranny on a global scale against all who reject the teachings of Islam.
Secularized Muslims may want peace and prosperity and even democracy, but once they seriously embrace the Koran and the teachings of Muhammad, they are grist for Jihadist ideology and war against Israel and the West. Islam is the underlying threat to the West. It is the nourishing fuel of Jihad and the supporting sea in which violent Jihadists swim.
Islam cannot be made a religion of peace without removing Muhammad and the Koran. We can deceive ourselves by imagining a peaceful Islam, but that will not make it a reality. It will not become something besides what it is by our wishful thinking. We can imagine a unicorn, but who can find one?
The Multiculturalist philosophy that all religions are benevolent and equally true is a monstrous deviation from both common sense and sound Christian doctrine. It is a philosophy that is disarming the United States and Western Europe in the face of Islamic expansion and Jihads terror.
Will we win the "war on terror"? Not if we dare not even name the enemy. Not if we undermine our own culture and spiritual heritage with the poison of multiculturalism and political correctness.
President Bush is right in sounding an alarm against a global threat to peace and to political and religious freedom. Yet apparently he still does not fully comprehend the historical and spiritual roots of the problem. Disregarding essential spiritual, religious, and historical truth is not likely to result in an effective strategy for national security. Persuading ourselves that only secularist, multiculturalist, and politically correct thinking is acceptable in forging our defense places us in enormous danger.
Multiculturalism also underlies the thinking of those who believe that massive third world immigration is not a threat to American and European cultural, spiritual, and religious foundations and economic and political stability.
Multiculturalism, with all its corollaries of political correctness and coerced diversity, is disarming the United States and the West in the face of the most formidable threat to civilization in many centuries.
If the President and our leaders would mobilize public opinion to meet the threats of Islamic Jihadism, multiculturalism must be stuffed in the trash can of American and Western European history. We must know who we are and the real nature of our danger.
