Gun Owners Boycott Kmart
By Brad Taylor
Posted on: July 3, 2001
K-Mart has buckled under a little pressure from some gun-control, anti-freedom groups. You can read about this story at Kmart to Phase Out Ammunition Sale
I believe it is important for people that believe in freedom and the Constitution to let Kmart know how the feel. There are two things you can do to help after reading the news report. First, go to http://www.PetitionOnline.com/sellammo and fill out the online petition.
Next, you can call Kmart on their toll-free number at 1-800-247-0200 (press 1 after being connected). Politely ask for clarification on their "no ammunition" policy. You should follow with a POLITE statement to the effect that you have been a K-Mart customer, but will no longer be one unless the policy is immediately and publicly reversed.
A courteous, but firm statement will do much more for gun owners than a rude or obnoxious approach. Certainly, Kmart is free to not sell ammunition just as I am free to shop elsewhere.
